Is the sorbitol in your toothpaste safe?Updated 3 years ago
The sorbitol we use is derived from tapioca starch. While studies show that ingesting relatively large amounts of sorbitol may be problematic, we use a very small amount in our formula. In our research, it is safe for the mouth and it is in such a small amount that essentially no sorbitol is actually ingested. We use it mainly as a binding ingredient. We are also proud to say it also has an Environmental Working Group (EWG) rating of 1 for toxicity level based on several factors!
